Hi Ho, Hi Ho, its off to school we go! Everyone was happy to be back.  We hope everyone had a wonderful summer.

Our adaptive physical education days will be Monday and Wednesdays  with Mrs. Jane Buchanan.  Community Based Instruction will be the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month.  I will be sending a list home of  places we will be going.  If you have any suggestions, please let you know.  We love new ideas. Our choir days are Tues. and Fridays but we have not confirmed our Band schedule as of yet.  Art will be on Tuesday.

Occupational Therapist (Mrs. McIntyre) will be visiting on Thursdays.  The Physical Therapist (Mrs. Cail) will be visiting on Tuesdays.  If you have any questions for either person, please let us know.

We are looking forward to a wonderful year.

Can  you believe this year has already come to an end?? Time does fly when you are having fun.  Congrats to Devin and Terrell who will be moving on to  High School next year. We will miss you!

May 7-May 11

Can you believe only 3 more weeks of school?  Wow, time flies when you are having fun and we have had a wonderful year.  There is still lots of work to do during the next 3 weeks.

This week we are learning about the Jamestown Settlement and Queen Elizabeth's visit to the USA.  We are looking forward to learning all about the Settlement and the life the early settlers lived.

We are also have a Mother's Day Tea this Wed. for the Mom of the students in our classroom. It' s time to tell our Mothers how special they are and to thank them for all they do. Mark you calanders and don't forget to tell your Mom.

April 30-May 4

A great week.  Curriculum was Dancing with the Stars, continued.  Everyone enjoyed dancing.  Our last CBI was Thurdsay.  We enjoyed a beautiful picnic at the park.  Next week we will be discussing the Jamestown settlement and Queen Elizabeth' s visit to the USA.

April 23-April 27

A great CBI this week. We took a tour of Shamrock Design and made our very own t-shirts. Miss Shelley and her crew designed Durham t-shirts just for us.  We enjoyed adding the printing and our names to the shirts. Our favorite part was watching them come off the dryer belt.  If you get a chance to stop in Shamrock Designs, tell Miss Shelley and the gang hi for us. We topped off the day with lunch from Chick-fil-a.

Our last CBI will be in 2 weeks.  We have had lots of fun and learned alot from our trips. We look forward to next year. This week we learned about the Boston Marathon. We did our own marathon and everyone won..............go team.

March 16-March 20

It was CRCT week and boy were we glad to have our GAA over and done.  While everyone else was doing CRCT's, we were glad to keep to our regular schedule.   Our curriculum this week was the Boston Marathon.  We held our own marathon during our p.e. time and awards were given.  We also began a unit on baby animals.

Next week we will be talking about t.v. dancing shows.  This should be alot of fun since everyone loves to dance.  We will also continue the baby animal unit.

April 9-April 13

Happy Spring,

A wonderful Spring Break was had by all.  Everyone was full of energy and ready to get back to work this week.  This week our week our lesson covered seeds and plants.  Our favorite activity was planting seeds and flowers.  Our News-2-You this week was on Robots. The robot games are being held this week at the Georgia Dome from April12-14.  If you get a chance, stop by. 

Next week is CRCT testing.  We will not be participating since we have finished our GAA.  Testing begins at 9:10 so be sure to be on time. We have alot of fun activities planned for next week.  We will be studying more about plants and the Boston Marathon.

March 19-March 23

Another great week. We can't believe Spring Break is only 5 school days away. The year has zoomed by us.  We enjoyed our curriculum this week on the Smart Fortwo car that will be coming out soon.  If you get a chance to read the information we sent home this week, I'm sure you will find it very interesting.

We also began our unit on "All about Me".  The students are having a great time sharing information about themselves we did not know.  I will be sending some information home for you to send back to me about each students likes and dislikes and members of the family.

Next week starts our Durham Olympics. Stay tuned for the days of our events. I will send home dates and times a.s.a.p.  Next week we will be learning about Robots.  Sounds fun!

March 12-March 16

Happy St. Patricks Day,  dont forget to wear green on Saturday.  We are learning about St. Paddy's day and Money this week.  The students had a great time with the color green; we found just about everything green we could find. The lesson on money was alot of fun too. Who doesnt like money??

March 5-March 9

Another fabulous week has come and gone. Our curriculum for the week was Polar Bears. The most fun was making ice for the polar bears to live on. Of course one thing lead to another and we made it snow in the classroom. The students enjoyed learning about the polar bears and their environment and characteristic.  Stay tuned for next week, "New Money" is our lesson.

CBI this week was Walmart to purchase our classroom supplies and Burger King. Have a wonderful weekend.
