HOMEROOM Students: Please bring in a self-addressed, stamped envelope so that we can mail your final report card and end of the year information!

Blocks 1, 2, 6: Today in class you completed vocabulary review exercises for unit 7 and checked them in class. Block 6: You took the open book test for chapters 5-10 that you did not take yesterday. Remember the vocabulary test is tomorrow. Words for unit 7 are in the Pages section of this blog.

Homework 1, 2, 6: Vocabulary test over unit 7 tomorrow

Blocks 3, 7(5): Today in class you completed vocabulary review exercises for unit 7 and checked them in class. Vocabulary unit 7 test is tomorrow.

Monday, 5/12/08

Blocks 1, 2, 6: Today in class you took an open book test over chapters 5-10 in our novel and then had time to use laptops to work on your portfolio assignments. Block 6: You will take the open book test tomorrow since you did not have this class today.

Homework 1, 2, 6: Vocabulary 7 test Wednesday. Bring vocabulary books tomorrow

Blocks 3, 7: Today you had the entire class to work on your choice assignments. Block 7: You will have the laptops on Thursday and Friday.

Friday, 5/9/08

Blocks 1, 2, 6: Today in class you took the vocabulary 7B quiz and then read the next 2 chapters in our novel.

Homework 1, 2, 6: None

Blocks 3, 7: Today n class you took the vocabulary 7B quiz and then had time to: read the novel, work on the choice assignments, or work on your vocabulary independent study.

Homework3, 7: Your two assignments for the novel are due by Friday of next week.

Thursday, 5/8/08

Blocks 1, 2, 6: Today in class we checked "Stalking the Elusive Sasquatch" worksheet and reviewed vocabulary 7B words. We then read chapter 10 in our novel.

Homework 1, 2, 6: 2nd choice assignment is due Friday, 5/9/08  VOCABULARY QUIZ 7B TOMORROW

Blocks 3, 7: Today in class we updated our plot diagram, took a reading check and discussed the quote from the novel, and then you had time to either finish reading the book or work on your assignments.

Homework 3, 7: Vocabulary 7B quiz tomorrow. Your 2 choice assignments will be due on Friday, 5/16

Wednesday, 5/7/08

Blocks 1, 2, 6: Today in class you completed vocabulary exercises for 7B (words 11-20) and graded it in class. You also read an article on D. B. Cooper and wrote a paragraph telling how you would use that information into the novel you are reading. If you did not finish the article in class, it is homework.

Homework 1, 2, 6: Vocabulary 7B quiz on Friday. 2nd choice assignment is due on Friday - NOTE NEW DATE! The assignment is NOT due on Thursday; it has been changed to Friday

Blocks 3, 7: Today in class you completed vocabulary exercises 7B and graded it in class. You had time to read your novel and work on your assignments.

Tuesday, 5/7/08

Blocks 1, 2, 6: Today in class we read chapters 8 and 9 in our novel. We also went over the answers to the volcano questions you did yesterday from the web. Vocabulary 7B was introduced. These are the last 10 words in lesson 7. You also should have turned in your first choice assignment. Bring your vocabulary books tomorrow.

Homework 1, 2, 6: Bring vocabulary books to class Wednesday. 2nd choice assignment due Thursday

Blocks 3, 7: Today in class we went over vocabulary 7B words. You also received your independent study contracts for the remaining vocabulary units. Remember, you decided how many units you wanted to complete. If you go over the amount contracted for, that is fine. Just be sure you don't overextend yourself! You had time in class to work on your assignments for the novel or to catch up on your reading in the novel.

Blocks 1, 2, 6: Today in class you worked on the laptops to gather information about volcanoes, specifically Mount St. Helens. You also had time to work on your choice assignments. Remember that your first assignment is due tomorrow.

Blocks 3, 7: Today in class you had the laptops to work on one of your choice assignments. You also had time to read the next chapters in our novel.

Blocks 1, 2, 6: Today you started watching the video, "Realm of the Yeti." You should have started taking notes as you watched so that you will be able to answer the questions on your handout. You will finish the video tomorrow.

Wednesday, 4/30/08

Blocks 1, 2, 6: Today in class you read chapter 7 in our novel. Block 1 - you should have received your assignment choice sheet today. Remember you only need to complete 3 assignments, not 4 as stated on the assignment sheet. You also should have had time to start on the worksheet "Elusive Sasquatch". It needs to be finished at home. This is due on Friday.

Blocks 3, 7: Today in class you continued reading in our novel and then wrote a 1 paragraph summary of the chapters.  You should have started checking the questions for chapters 9 and 10.
