Fall 2008

As you hopefully have noticed the school is looking great from the inside out and the Wildcats can be proud!  All of the children and staff have signed the Wildcat Pledge, be sure to inquire about the pledge to understand the greatness that is taking place inside the school doors!

Durham achieved AYP with Distinction  That menas the school is doing great as a whole!

Rigor in academics is a plus and the children are taught to above grade level as they yearly prepare to move on to high school.  The children will be writing in every class, whether it is physical education or math, this is known to help them become better writers in their whole learning process.

Advisement is off to a great start and the children are working as teams and having fun as they learn to work as a team and be able to get along with all grade levels.

The sixth grade class is adjusting well to middle school life by having opportunities such as, Pizza with the Principal and Advisement.

Thanks for the opportunity to serve you , the parents of the Durham community,

Durham is off to a great school year: Earning the Platinum Award

Magazine Sales: Durham reached their goal of $5k in sales

These earnings will go towards student and teacher recognition, conferences, workshops and materials.

Looking into having Durham to have a more welcoming appeal when entering the school.  Possibly with the help of an Eagle Scout project.

Durham will have a face lift in the future, the heating and ac will be redone, window replacement, repaint inside and out

Looking forward to the Durham Talent Show, children have been notified of tryout scheduling

21st Century Classrooms are at Durham!!! Each classroom has an interactive smart board with ceiling mounted projectors.  Proven success with children reading, excited and wanting to use the boards and interact.  The teachers have been through a lot of training and are doing a fine job with all that they do.
