Monday

Today we began working on our new unit "Global Warming - is it natural or human?"  You received the rules and directions for a good debate, your position and over-arching facts for your position.

Tuesday

Today we began researching our position and writing down information regarding our facts.  Debates will begin Monday!

Homework:  get notecards to bring in and science book(we will be taking up books beginning tomorrow!

Wednesday

Today we finished up our research and began working on the notecards.  If you didn't finish your research, you have homework.  Tomorrow you will begin writing your speech and we will not have the computers. You need to bring in your index cards and your science book if you have not turned it in yet.  The link to the websites is:

Week of May 4 - May 8

Monday

Today we began our presentations over the solar system.  I will be taking grades on the following:

1.  notes taken for research

2.  completed project on technology (rubric)

3.  notes taken in class for each groups information

4.  verbal presentation - how did you teach/present the information; 

5.  behavior during presentations - were you interested, rude or trying to learn

Tuesday

Today we saw more presentations and took notes on them.  You have no homework.

Wednesday

Today we watched more presentations.  No homework.

Thursday

We finished up any presentations left.  We will begin our new unit on Global warming.  More information to come :0)

Monday

Today we played CRCT games:  there were teams that were chosen by the students and they competed between the other teams for correct answers.  Winners got to choose some candy!!!  No homework!!

Blocks 3 and 6:  Today we began a Solar System Project.  You were given the directions and rubric.  You worked on some of the information in class today and will continue with it the next time I see you.  Block 4:  we worked on more CRCT practice.  No homework!!!

Tuesday

Today we took our test on chapter 21.  Then we read chapter 5, section 1, page 122 - 125 on renewable and non renewable resources.  This is the last unit we will be studying for the CRCT.  We then made a comparison table to help compare all of the different resources we have on earth:  pros and cons.  A copy is below and in word for you to reference when drawing your own.  I also provided paper and rulers for you to work on in class.

Wednesday

Today we discussed chapter 5, section 1 and 2.  We also took some CRCT practice tests to be ready for the CRCT.

Today we finished going over the comparison table answers.  We also went over the answers to the CRCT practice test.  Your homework tonight is p. 116-117 #1-9 only.

Monday

Today we took almost there quizzes to see how much you have learned.  If you missed them, don't worry, you don't have to make them up.

 

Tuesday

Today we drew and labeled p. 662 - phases of the moon.  This is for part of your test, so make sure you did a good job.  This will be taken for a grade tomorrow.

 

Wednesday

Today we checked the phases of the moon drawing.  We then began our moon, asteroids, comets, meteors, and planets unit.  We went over part of the study guide answers.  Begin to study those answers for your test the Tuesday after Spring Break.

Thursday

Today we continued to work on the moon, etc. notes for the study guide.  We also watched some video clips that pertain to each subject.  Study the other answers and questions that we went over today for your test.

 

Friday

Today we finished up the moon, etc. study guide and began to review by playing some review games.  Your only homework is to study for your test.  Test is Tuesday, April 14th.  Here is the study guide with all of the answers.  Also, don't forget to study the phases of the moon from your drawing.

Monday

Today we finished chapter 20 notes.  We then finished up the class period playing review games for chapter 19 test for tomorrow.

Today we took our test on chapter 20.  When we finished we read chapter 21 section 2 and completed p. 653 #1-10.

Today we began to work on the project for the solar system.  We used the computers to help find some information on our subjects.

Blocks 5, 6, 7:  Took 17-1 senteo test;  went over answers to homework from Thursday and turned in for a grade.

Tuesday mornings:  for tutoring, we will be practicing for the CRCT

This morning for tutoring we took a practice CRCT test, so please come next Tuesday for more practice!!

Today we did #45 math unravel.  We then discussed chapter 19 and began to take notes.  There were many short clips of videos to go with our notes.  We didn't finish those today, but will tomorrow.
