Week 3/23-27
6th Grade
Students are continuing to work on their typing skills. We are adding 2 letters each day
Wednesday we will be taking a quiz. It will be online using the link below. They will be taking the Typing Time Quiz Lesson 5
8th Grade
Students are working at their own pace on keyboarding. Some students are beginners and working in the alphabetic keys and others are more advanced and working on the numbers and symbols. This is the first 20 min. of class each day.
Wednesday we will be taking a quiz. It will be online using one of the links below. They will be taking the quiz that corresponds to the lessons they are working on.
This week we are working basic formatting, changing of shadows and beginning Excel.
7th Grade
Students are working at their own pace on keyboarding. Some students are beginners and working in the alphabetic keys and others are more advanced and working on the numbers and symbols. This is the first 20 min. of class each day.
Wednesday we will begin the personal finance unit.
Week 3/16-20
All Classes will need to print a copy of the syllabus below. Have it signed by a parent and return it by Friday, March 20, 2009.
March 2-6, 2009
6th Grade
Students will be presenting their career powerpoints Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
8th Grade
The last three projects for the Band unit are due this week. They are a Newletter with 4 articles, a Brochure with the concert tour dates and bio's on the band members, and a concert ticket. Everything is due by Friday. It is recommended to turn them in when each item is done.
7th Grade
Students are continuing the Party unit. This week they will complete their supplies list, draw a map in MS Word using the drawing tools and make a powerpoint.
MicroType Lessons
All MicroType typing lessons are due Friday, March 6 for all 7th and 8th grade classes.
February 23-27, 2009
6th Grade
Students are continuing work on their career powerpoint presentations. These are due Friday and we will begin presenting them in class on Monday March 2.
8th Grade
Students are continuing work on the My Band unit. This week they are creating a piece of letterhead. They will be writing a letter to on it to a venue to ask about performing a free concert to get their band heard. They will also make a flyer for the concert.
We will be selling our stocks on Friday to see if anyone made any money. I will let you know who the winners are soon.
7th Grade
Students completed their Newsletter in MS Word. They are beginning a new unit My Party. They are hosting a party and to make all of the arrangements. We are starting with a Table of Contents. Then a flyer, an address list and a supply list.
Week February 17-20, 2009
6th Grade
Students will be taking a personality test today to see what jobs appeal to them and what fits their personalities. This will lead into our career unit and the students will be making and presenting a power point. We will be using www.careercruising.com for our information.
8th Grade
Students will be taking a timing today and continuing with the "My Band" projects. This week they will complete a Logo and a business card.
7th Grade
Students will be working in MS Word creating a Newletter. Working with columns and formatting word art and clip art.
Progress Reports
Progress reports go home today. Please check your child's agenda. They will be stapled into February on today's date.

Students will be competing in the student/teacher volleyball game. Students in PE will be playing the teachers for the win.
