NO LATE PROJECTS WILL BE ACCEPTED

Stocks

The students have been learning how to use the MS Excel program.  An activity that I use to do this and also teach a business concept is buying stocks.  The students get $1000 to buy their choice of stocks.  They will be keeping up with these stocks until the end of the nine weeks when we sell.  The students will be able to calculate whether they made or lost money.  We use yahoo to check prices and the students must use the previous close price.

The 6th grade students will be researching a career this week and creating a power point presentation.  They will take a personality assessment to direct them to a career that will fit them best.  They will be using the website career cruising to gather their information. This project will last about 1 week.

6th Grade

We are starting to use MS Excel this week.  We will be making an address book.  This is very basic, but it gets the students to spell check, widen columns, repeat content, and change font & color to name a few.
