Art Information

Welcome to the 4th nine weeks of art! Each student will need a pencil, agenda, and art folder for every class.   Also, if each student could bring in a container of baby wipes it would be greatly appreciated!

Each class is learning about the elements of art and principles of design. Each class has also started a non-objective themed art project, using color, line, pattern, and shape to create a composition.

I look forward to teaching your child this quarter!

Art Reminders

We are completing the first nine weeks  on October 10th. All folder work will be due on Wednesday October 8th.

Students may have to pick up ceramic projects during the next nine weeks due to a malfunctioning kiln. We are waiting on a repair from the county. I will keep you posted! We are sorry for the delay in getting the projects back to the students. Grades will not be affected.

Some student art work might be kept for the Art Show in February. Art work will be returned after the art show.

It has been my pleasure to teach your child at Durham MS!

Art News

Welcome to Art at Durham Middle School for the 2008-2009 school year. Your child will need a pencil, agenda, and folder(pocket folder) every day for art. All classes have just completed designing folder covers for their folders. This week all classes will be learning about the Elements of Art, and Principles of Design. The concepts learned will be applied to various art projects explored in class. (see curriculum map and syllabus) We will soon be exploring line design with students creating still life drawings and paintings from "set ups".

Thank you so much for sending in baby wipes and wet wipes! It cuts the clean up time in the art room in half!

I am looking forward to teaching your child!
