One more day.....This has been a fast year but a good one!  To my faithful bloggers-thank you!  Good luck to everyone as you move on to 8th grade.  Come and visit (with a pass of course)

I just LOVE the ideas and creativity shown on our '"create a country" activity!  The children have grown and learned so much this year!  I am one proud teacher! 

We will complete the activity in class....this is an in class assignment-students do not need to be doing this at home!

Textbooks are due.  I have sent home notices for books that have not yet been returned.

HOMEROOM:  self addressed stamped envelopes are requested!

Students continue to creat their own country.  All elements are due on Thursday.  I am collecting Social Studies books...the replacement cost is $44.95.  Silent lunch will begin on Wednesday!

Self addressed envelopes are due to homeroom teachers.

12, 13, and 14 May

It is Showtime for me and many of your classmates.  The Durham Chorus Production of Guys and Dolls will be Wednesday and Thursday night at 7 in the theater.  Since there will be no grade level performance for 7th and 8th grade, I hope you will be able to attend on (or both) of the nights.  Wish Erica, Debra, Jordan, Drew, and Cooper good wishes-they are awesome!  This does mean the next few days are a little crazy so I am posting the next few days to be sure! 

All classes are finishing up the class novel.  A mini (in class) project has been assigned that includes casting a movie based on the novel.  The assignment is due on Monday.  Bring in your Social Stuides book!

HOMEROOM:  Please bring in your legal sized self addressed stamped (with three stamps) envelope to me!

Happy 10 days to go students! 

Today in class, students enjoyed more of the novel.  We will finish the novel this week and begin work on a fun in class assignment...need to finish first though!  Next week, create your own country!

You may bring back your textbook or cd from home!  Now you know the end is near!

 HAPPY FRIDAY!Perfect day for a short trip to China. The Great Wall of China is a structure of great history and really neat stories of greed, glory and ......murder!

Another soggy day outside but your sunny smiles always brighten my day! 

The novels continue.  Assignment check- Blocks 1, 4, and 5:  Homework check in class (on Thursday) to make sure you have completed your comic strip through Chapter 10.  We will read and finish 11 and 12 in class on Thursday (tomorrow).  Blocks 2 and 3: Please have the comic strip summary complete for class on Thursday (tomorrow).  We will read with a partner Chapters 13-15.

Our team is covered up with bookworms!  Today classes also began their comic strip summary of Chapters 7-12.  We will continue this on Wednesday. 

Blocks 2 and 3:  If you had not finished the questions through Chapter 12, you need to do so.

4 May

It may have been nasty outside but it was a beautiful day in 7-1.  All students took the Location Quiz for numbers 41-60 and read independently from the assigned novel.  No homework-check i-parent to see if you are caught up with assignments!

Classes continued reading in the assigned novel.  There is no homework this weekend.  Take advantage of the time to make sure you are caught up with all your assignments!
